It all started on September 2, 2023. The leftist group called Progressive Writers and Artists Association organised a three-day conference in Chennai. The theme was Sanatan Dharma eradication conference. In it, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of chief minister of Tamil Nadu spoke. When he spoke, he said Sanatana Dharma should not just be opposed but it should be eradicated, like the way we eradicate mosquitoes, corona, dengue; we should eradicate Sanatan Dharma also.
Every year, 46,000 students kill themselves all over the world. From 15-29 years is the most vulnerable age as it is reported by the studies. In every 40 seconds, one student kills himself or herself. If you consider the male-female ratio, it is 2:1. That is, for two males, there is one female who is killing herself. One important thing that we should also take into consideration is that there is absolutely no frustration tolerance in the younger generation or less frustration tolerance.
The Uniform Civil Code, as we all know is embodied in Article 44 of the Indian Constitution and is part of the Directive Principles of State Policy. It has remained a dead letter for long. Technology has penetrated all spheres of human life. The world is at the cusp of yet another important revolution that is spearheaded by artificial intelligence (AI). Throughout the ancient to modern eras, it will be demonstrated as a rare occurrence for an individual to face persecution for their thoughts, in stark contrast to Abrahamic religions, where dissent often led to widespread persecution and loss of life.
The current climate on Earth is outside our historical experience and these extreme conditions will intensify because our activities will cause even more warming before this lessens. Our water systems and ecosystems, agriculture, infrastructure and economic growth are already being adversely impacted by climate change.
